Holy Week

Holy week has become a rather busy period for our group and this year was no exception. The Group has again put up an exhibition in the parish centre which was very successful. A new last supper table was set up and 6 decorated semolina frames were exhibited. A crucifix was borrowed from the parish church and displayed in the exhibition. Two sets of miniature statuettes and a static display of the crucifixion hill complete with holy week paraphernalia were also set up.

As customary the group participated in the procession of Our Lady of Sorrows with all sections attending in full force. The group led the procession with the drummers leading.

On Good Friday the troop and cubs attended for an hour of adoration in front of the Holy Sepulchre at the Attard parish church whilst in the afternoon the group’s drummers took part in the Good Friday Procession.

During Holy week, the group’s fund raising arm was also at work selling the traditional Holy week’s bread ‘qagħaq ta’ l-appostli’ and ‘figolli’.
