The flagship section of the group is the Troop, which is made up of older children between the ages of 11 and 15 years. The meetings are held on Fridays between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm and consist of lectures aimed at increasing the knowledge of scouting and general knowledge. The group is lead by the Skipper or directly by the Group Scout Leader. The group is divided into a number of Patrols, each with its leader and assistant leader. Each patrol manages its own finances, has its own locker and is given a degree of independence. This gives the children an early start towards group responsibility and team bonding. The children are trained in line with the International Scouting Standard and include activities such as camping, orienteering, first aid, map reading, axe wielding and so on. The troop participates in official scouts parades as well as assists in local activities such as marathons, cleanups and charity.
The present leader of the troop is the GSL himself Mr. Vince Farrugia assisted by ASL Mr. Mario Micallef. Joseph Calleja and Matthew Cremona are also helping the Troop Section as Support Leaders.
